Family house Utrecht

Whenever Remy tackles a historical object, he always takes the past into account. That also goes for this nineteenth-century mansion in the centre of Utrecht. The original layout, for example, was the guiding principle for the new floor plan. It is not only tailored to the comfort of our times, but also to the users of the building. The use of terrazzo is striking. This characteristic material can be found in the entrance hall and the various bathrooms, among other places. Terrazzo originally comes from Italy and has been frequently used in Dutch homes since the second half of the nineteenth century. For more images, click here.
